It has been a LONG time since I posted – things have gotten rather busy at work – but these lip kits have inspired me to get back to it.
I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical on whether or not these would live up to the hype, but I have an obsession with liquid lipsticks, soooo I had to try them.
I know a lot of people think liquid lipsticks are extremely drying – so just as a disclaimer I don’t mind the drying aspect of liquid lipsticks in general. I am more of a if it stays on my lips for as long as possible I am all for it.
Now lets get down to the details. The lip kits come with both the lip liner and the liquid lipstick for $29, which ultimately is actually not a bad price compared to some other liquid lipsticks on the market (should we take a sip of wine every time I say liquid lipstick?).
I got 5 colors – KoKo K, Candy K, Dolce K, Mary Jo K and 22 (swatches below). The lip liners are super creamy and I tend to fill in my entire lips with the liner first (this will help with the dryness). Then I apply a thin layer of the liquid lipstick overtop. I love how quickly the lipstick dries – and it dries down completely matte with no transfer.
*No Lip color – I wanted to show my natural lips (cracks and all) just so you can get an idea of how my natural coloring is affecting the color of the lipsticks. My lips are pretty pale, so you’ll see with koko / dolce the color comes off a little more washed out and true nude. Also with those more vibrant colors they come off pretty vibrant!
KoKo K – a pale, pinky nude.
Candy K – a soft, warm nude.
Dolce K – a medium, beige nude.
22 – a vibrant, burnt orange.
Mary Jo K – a true, blue red.
Overall, these are def one of my top 5 formulas. They are pigmented, very long wearing, matte and don’t transfer (and they smell amazing!). My overall favorite shade is actually taking the Candy K liner with KoKo K overtop. I’ve been wearing that basically all week.
Overall – if you can get your hands on a shade or two and like liquid lipsticks I do recommend them! I am hoping to get my hands on Posie K in the next release 🙂
Let me know what colors you have or are dying to try!
